Spring cleaning for dog people
It’s safe to say that spring is finally here! Time to throw open the windows and start fresh. Spring cleaning is a big deal for a lot of people, especially dog people like us, so let’s kick off your annual post-winter scrub with a pet-friendly to-do list.
Major items that need scrubbing:
Bed & blankets
When was the last time you washed your dog’s bedding? If you can’t quite remember, you’re not alone! First, make sure everything is washable, then throw them in the washing machine.
Dog toys spend a lot of time in your pet’s mouth, on the floor and sometimes even outside. Pretreat plush toys, pop them into the washing machine and voilà. Rubber toys can simply be soaked in water and rinsed, or you can run even them through the dishwasher.
Water and food bowls should be washed regularly, but let’s be honest, not everyone is doing it. If you’re guilty of regularly rinsing, spring is a great time to de-gunk your bowls using with dish soap and warm water.
Post winter grooming
When was the last time your pup had a good scrub of their own? Skip the stress and mess of bath time, and simply wipe them down with our Earth Rated Grooming wipes! Try the lavender-scented ones for an extra fresh scent. Hopefully, they don’t roll in any mud before the end of the day (paws crossed).
Collars & leashes
After a long winter, collars and leashes are often grimy, stinky and in need of a good scrub. For extra stubborn stains, soak for a good 15 minutes. Remember that leather dog collars should never be soaked in water, use a reputable leather cleaner.
Backyard pick up
Grab your poop bags and get your yard ready for the best summer ever. It’s not a pretty job, but we like to think we make it a little easier.
Donate items you’re not using
Have some pet items that are in good condition but simply aren’t being used in your household? Check with your local rescue or shelter to see if they could use them. Many are often in need of durable toys, towels, blankets, bowls and more.
