What’s the deal with compostable poop bags?
At Earth Rated, our goal has always been to create fun and affordable alternatives to traditional plastic bags—to make poop pick-up a fuss-free experience.
Our green-coloured poop bags, now adorn millions of leashes across the globe. The rolls’ cores and packaging are made of recycled materials and excess material is recycled or reused for future production.
If you want next-level commitment to the environment, we also offer compostable poop bags. Made from vegetable starch, these unscented bags can be disposed of in a municipal compost environment where pet waste is accepted.
They meet the ASTM D6400 guidelines: ASTM D6400 certification sets the standard for identifying materials that will compost satisfactorily in municipal composting facilities.
They’re approved by The Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI): When it comes to certifying compostable products and packaging, BPI is the big dog in North America. It’s the certification most municipalities that accept pet waste will ask for.
Packaging is made from recycled materials: From the roll core to the box the bags call home—just like our green-coloured bags.
They’re compatible with our leash dispenser: Honestly, who can live without our leash dispenser? Our compostable poop bags are rolled and rolled in the same fashion as our green-coloured ones.
While dog poop is not accepted at all compost facilities in the US and Canada, a number of communities are successfully composting their dog waste. Does your municipality accept animal waste? If not, consider writing to your local representative and help get the ball rolling.
