It's really easy peasy. When the ridge on the cap and the slit on the dispenser are lined up together, the cap is locked. To open, twist counterclockwise until you hear a click! Load your poop bag roll so the first bag comes out through the slit, then simply align the two slits together. After, just twist it clockwise until it clicks to lock in place.
